  1. You need to be at least 18 years old
  2. Your vision/prescription has been stable for at least one year
  3. You need a prescription of certain strength to see clearly in the distance and that strength must meet FDA-approved guidelines for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. You also must be willing to accept the potential risks, complications and side effects.
  4. You should have a healthy cornea, retina, and eye pressure.
  5. The cornea must also have sufficient thickness.
  6. You should have no other major eye diseases.
  7. You should have no evidence of collagen vascular or autoimmune disease.
  8. You should not be pregnant or nursing.
  9. You should not have a recent history of herpes infection of the eye.
  10. You should have realistic expectations about the outcome of surgery.
The following patients would not be considered candidates of Manhattan laser eye surgery:
  1. Active eye inflammation or infection
  2. Severely dry eyes
  3. Excessive corneal disease or scarring
  4. Degenerative disease of the cornea (e.g. keratoconus)
  5. Uncontrolled diabetes
  6. Pregnant and Nursing mothers
  7. Inadequate corneal tissue
  8. Certain rheumatological conditions (e.g. lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjorgens Disease)
  9. Pupils larger than 7mm in the dark - due to increased risk of glare and halos at night and decreased night vision

Retreatment Warranty

Our Retreatment Warranty offers you any medically necessary retreatments on your Manhattan laser eye surgery at a significantly reduced price.

Your Retreatment Warranty for the first year after your Manhattan laser eye surgery is included in the total cost for LASIK. To extend this Warranty beyond the first year after your procedure, you must schedule an laser eye exam through our LASIK Counselors prior to the anniversary of your initial LASIK procedure. We will send you a courtesy reminder email prior to your LASIK anniversary to help keep your warranty current.
  • If your ophthalmologist recommends retreatments you will only have to pay the eye laser manufactures’ licensing fee of $110 - $300 per eye, depending on the procedure. You will not have to pay any facility fees, provider fees, or other fees.
  • To schedule your annual exam, call our LASIK Counselers at 1-877-298-2010 before your LASIK anniversary.
  • The fee for this annual exam is currently set at $80.00, and again, extends your retreatment warranty for another 12 months.
  • In Manhattan, Retreatments can only be performed by the practice who performed the original LASIK laser eye surgery and at the discretion of the Ophthalmologist.
The ophthalmologist's medical opinion is final in determining if Retreatments may be performed and failure to follow the provider's advice with respect to eye health and general medical care may void this Retreatment Warranty. The Retreatment Warranty is based on existing excimer technology which was used to perform your laser eye surgery.
